Bijnor, the headquarters of
Bijnor District, is on the left bank of the
Ganges River. Situated on the north-western part of Uttar Pradesh, it is a well known thread manufacturing center and a trade center for agricultural products. Sugar is the main industry of the city.
Dehradun is around 70 km north of Bijnor.
