Tirunelveli Junction Railway Station




Tirunelveli Junction Railway Station is a major railhead of the Southern Railways. Nellai Express runs daily between Chennai and Tirunelveli. A platform ticket vending machine is installed at the station. A chamber is set up for Tourist Information Cell. Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve Wildlife Sanctuary (30 km), Kalakadu Wildlife Sanctuary and Kuttalam Waterfalls (known as 'the spa of the South') can be visited from Tirunelveli. The Central Bus Station is at a stone’s throw from the railway station. Inter-state buses to Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Ernakulam and Bangalore are available. For local travel, taxis and auto-rickshaws are available at the railway station. The next major station towards south is Nagercoil, about 65 km from Tirunelveli.
