Hanumanthathirtham

Hanumanthathirtham is located in Krishnagiri District on the banks of Pennar River. Hanumanthathirtham is 10 km form Uthangarai.

According to legend, Lord Ram asked Hanuman to get water from the Ganges River for his penance at Tirtamalai. Hanuman failed to bring the water on time and Lord Ram got it by using the Asthrapryogam (using arrows). The disappointed Hanuman threw the water away and the place where the water fell is believed as the sacred ‘Hanumantirtham’. During the Tamil month of Aadi (July-August) devotees visit this place.

The place can be accessed from Jolarpettai Railway Junction.
