Gobichettipalayam

Gobichettipalayam is located in Erode District of Tamil Nadu and is around 35 km north-west of Erode.

The place, also called Gobi, had derived its name from an old man named Godi Chetti, who lived here. The Bhavani River flows through the town. Places of tourist interest include the Pariyur Amman Temple and the Kodavari Dam.

The nearest airport is at Coimbatore. Nearest major railhead is at Erode.
