Dausa




Dausa, the administrative headquarters of Dausa District, is an ancient town situated on the National Highway 11 and is 54 km east of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Dausa is one of the erstwhile kingdoms of the Kachhawah rulers of Dhundhar and is famous as an important archaeological center.

Places of tourist interest include Mataji Ka Mandir, Nilkanth Mahadev Temple and some Shiva temples. The town also has some old havelis and an ancient fort.

Nearest airport is at Jaipur. Dausa Railway Station is a major railhead of Rajasthan and is connected with Jaipur, Alwar and New Delhi via a broad-gauge rail route.
