Banamalipur

Banamalipur is a village situated on the banks of Kushabhadra River, in Khordha District, Orissa. It is an important trading centre in the area. A market sits here on Tuesdays and Saturdays of every week. Pan or betel leaf is the main commodity for sale. These leafs are exported to other part of Orissa and to some adjoining states.

The Beleswar and Tribeniswar Shiva temples, located just two km from here, are other points of interest. Tribeni Mela, which falls on the Magha Amabasya day, is celebrated with much pomp and splendor. On this auspicious day, thousands of people from far and near visit the place to take a dip in the Prachi River to wash off their sins.

Bhanragarh, famous for the Madhukeswar Shiva Temple, is just three km from here.

As the Kushabhadra River is not bridged, Banamalipur is not directly approachable by bus service. Regular buses plying from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri stop on the other side of the river.
