Chandragiri




A Tibetan Refugee Rehabilitation Settlement, Chandragiri is 90 km east of Paralakhemundi and 15 km from Udayagiri in Gajapati district of Orissa. Tibetan temples and prayer flags along with dense green forest cover, gives a romantic touch to the place.

The place is renowned for Tibetan woolen garments and carpet and the Lhasa Apso dogs. The place has large scale horticulture plantation of mango, orange, guava and pineapple and is also famous for seasonal fruits. Apart from the Tibetans, the population comprises of tribal communities. Taptapani, famous for hot springs, is 36 km north of Chandragiri.

Berhampur on the National Highway 5 is a major town nearby.
