Khandala




Located in the western part of the state of Maharashtra, Khandala is one of the important hill stations in the state and the pride of the Sahyadri mountains. It provides a popular getaway from the hustle and bustle of cities of Mumbai and Pune. Heavy southwestern monsoon rains are experienced between June and September.

The best time to visit the place is between October and May. Lakes such as Tugauli, Lonavala, and Bhushi are around Khandala. Rajmachi Fort, Rajmachi Point, and Reversing Point can be visited. Karla and Bhaja Caves, located in the hills at a distance of 16 km from Khandala, are worth visiting. Rock climbing can be enjoyed at the Duke's Nose Peak and other locations in Karla hills, near Khandala. The Lonavala Hill Station is nearby.
