Karla




Karla is a small town situated about 120 km from Mumbai and about 55 km from Pune. This place is famous for its ancient Buddhist cave temples dating back to 80 BC, located close to the hill stations of Lonavala and Khandala, on the northern side of the town. Karla can be accessed from Mumbai and Pune by buses.

Lonavala is just 11 km west of Karla town, while Khandala is 16 km from here. Mumbai airport and Pune airport are nearby. The nearest railway station is the Malavli Rail Station in Bhaja village, which is about 5 km south of the town.
