Bhandardara




Bhandardara is a beautiful holiday resort on the hills and is an ideal place for trekkers. Arthur lake formed by the dammed waters of the Pravara river is a major attraction. It was here that Shri Agasti Rishi meditated continuously for a year.

Wilson Dam, Umbrella Falls, and Randha Falls are worth visiting. Mount Kalsubai, highest peak (1,646 m) in the Sahyadri range overlooks Bhandardara. Agasti Rishi Ashram is situated on the bank of the Pravara river. Ratangadh Fort and Amriteshwar Temple are interesting destinations.

The nearest airport is at Mumbai and the nearest railhead is Igatpuri on Central Railway (45 km). Bhandardara is accessible by road also from Mumbai (185 km) and Pune (191 km).
