Bhopal District




Bhopal District is in the central part of Madhya Pradesh. This place was earlier ruled by the Rajputs, Afghans and Mughals. The forts and other relics left by these rulers speak of the cultural heritage of Bhopal. One of the main destinations is Berasia. Bhopal has an area of 2,772 sq km and a population of 1.4 million.

The weather is pleasant throughout the year. Bhojpur, Samasgarh, Delawadi, Pandav Caves and Manua Bhan Ki Tekri are places of tourist interest.

Bhopal Airport is 15 km from the district headquarters Bhopal. Bhopal is on the main line to the southern state capitals of Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram. There are direct trains to Amritsar and Jammu Tawi.
