Thattekad

Located on the banks of Periyar River, Thattekad is a small town in Ernakulam District and is 10 km north of Kothamangalam.

The place is enriched with evergreen monsoon forests. Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, Kerala's first bird sanctuary, is located here.
