Sri Bairagi Ganapathi Temple




Sri Bairagi Ganapathi Temple is a delightful shrine situated at Chowlikeri, in Barkur, Udupi District. The presiding deity is Lord Ganesh - the preserver of knowledge and of wisdom, and the remover of obstacles. The temple features beautiful sculptures on stonewall and surface.

This ancient temple made of stone was built during the reign of Chola Dynasty. The place was named Chowlikeri after the temple.

Sri Kalikamba Temple, Batte Vinayaka Temple and Rathnagarbha Ganapathi Temple are other important places of worship nearby.
