Situated on the banks of Ponniar River, Bagalur is a small town in Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu. Neighboring towns linked with Bagalur are Hosur in the south-west, Sarjapura in the west, Berigar in the east and Mookondapalli in the south-west. The town is about 14 km from Hosur and 11 km from Berikai. There is a bridge of the British era built across the Ponniar River. The bridge is the gateway to the neighboring states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Bagalur lies around 32 km from Bangalore and 135 km from Salem. Nearby tourist spots include Chandira Choodeswarar Temple, Tillany Fine Arts Museum and Gallery, Kelavarapalli Dam, Rayakottah Fort, Hanumanthathirtham, Government Museum, Thally and Krishnagiri Fort at Krishnagiri. Victoria Hotel at Hosur provides convenient and affordable accommodation. The nearest airport is Bangalore International Airport. Hosur Railway Station serves the town. Bagalur can be approached from Hosur, Bangalore and Krishnagiri by road. National Highway 207 passes through the town.
