Rumtse is a scenic village located in
Ladakh region of
Leh District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 96 km
Leh and is a seat of Buddhist culture and religion. The drive to Rumtse is a delightful one, with views of the Indus Valley and many monasteries on the way. The meandering
Indus River is one of the great attractions of this region.
Located about 15 km from Kyamar, Rumtse can be approached from Morey Plain (about 33 km). A steep ascent from Pang via Tanglang La will lead to Rumtse.
