Gadsar Lake is situated at an altitude of about 5,000 m, at
Sonamarg in the
Srinagar District of
Jammu and Kashmir. This is one among the high altitude lakes of Kashmir lying on the lap of the
Himalayas. The lake is an ideal trekking base and can be reached through alpine trekking. The route from Razbal Gali descends to the Gadsar Lake. The lake is rich in brown trouts and is a major attraction for people interested in fly fishing. The lake is surrounded by alpine flowers and trees.
