Shikari Devi Temple




Located at an altitude of 3,359 m above sea level, Shikari Devi Temple is 18 km from Chindi in Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh. It is an ancient roofless shrine lying at the crown of a hill in Shikari Devi. Surrounded by lush green forests, the temple offers magnificent views of snow-covered mountains and wooded hills all around. The temple is dedicated to Shikari Devi. The goddess is worshipped in the form of a stone image. Legend says that the temple has been in existence since the time of the Pandavas. Kamru Nag Temple, Rohanda, Barot, Karsog, Chindi, Shikari Devi Sanctuary, Mamaleshwar Temple and Sundernagar are nearby tourist destinations. There is a Forest Rest House and also a Serai in the temple where one can stay. It is an ideal base for trekking. Shikari Devi can be accessed from Janjehli and Karsog. Kullu Manali Airport at Bhuntar is the nearest airport. Nearest railway station is the Joginder Nagar Railway Station .
