Barot




Barot is a famous tourist spot located about 40km from Jogindernagar in Mandi District. The ruins of the summer palace of the former rulers of Mandi are found here. The main attractions of Barot are the Hydel Power Project and a trout breeding center. It is an ideal place for angling and other outdoor activities. Another attraction in the area is Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary that houses Himalayan black bear and a wide range of pheasants.

A trek route through thick forests connects Barot to Kullu. There are rest houses at Thaltukhod and Silbadhwani in the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary.
