Hamirpur, the seat of administration of Hamirpur District
, is a thickly populated town on the Shimla
road, in Himachal Pradesh
. The town, situated on a lower elevation, is comparatively warmer than the rest of the state. It has some hilly ranges covered by pine forests. Hamirpur is 110 north-west of Shimla.
