Halvad

Halvad is a taluk headquarters town in the Surendranagar District of Gujarat. It is around 75 km from the town of Wankaner. This ancient fortified town lies at the southern edge of the Rann of Kutch. The place was once the capital of Dhrangadha State, ruled by Jhala Rajputs. Cenotaphs and hero-stones made of sandstone are found there. Brahmins conduct an unusual competition of Laddu (a sweet) eating yearly.

Halvad Palace and Wild Ass Sanctuary are the worth visiting sites.

Halvad Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Rajkot Airport and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport are the closest airports.
