Shri Bhagavati Temple is an ancient shrine located at
Pernem, 28 km from
Panaji in
North Goa District. This 500 years old temple enshrines the beautiful image of Bhagavati Asthbhuja (
Goddess Durga) in a standing position on a high pedestal.
On either side at the entrance, two life size images of elephants in standing position, made of black stone, can be seen. Dussehra celebrated here amid much pomp and splendor draws a large number of devotees from far and near.
