Poriem




Poriem is an archeologically important place near the border of Sattari with Bicholim taluk and the state of Maharashtra. It lies in the north-eastern side of North Goa District. Gonteli is 5 km east and Onda is 4 km south.

Poriem shot into the limelight with the discovery of a 3rd-4th century megalith from here. Mayem Lake, Arvalem Waterfalls and Valpoi are within a short drive. Sanquelim Datta Mandir is an important shrine to visit in nearby Bicholim taluk.

The Bicholim- Gululem road passes close by. Karmali Railway Station and Goa Airport are the main access points.
