Holy Spirit Church, located at Margao
, is one of the notable buildings in South Goa District
. Built in 1565, it is situated at the site of the Shree Damodar Temple which was destroyed by the Portuguese.
This church is a fine example of Indian Baroque style architecture. It has a beautiful rectangular square in front. The exquisitely decorated altars are dedicated to St Peter and St Michael.
The annual feast, which falls in May, draws people from far and near.
