Jamui is the seat of administration of
Jamui District, in
Bihar and is about 160 km to the south-east of
Patna.
Places of tourist interest include the
Minto Tower (15 km),
Giddheshwar Temple, Kakan and Jain Mandir Dharamshala. The Kali Mela held in the Malaypur Kali Temple is a major draw.
The nearest airport is at Gaya.
Jamui Railway Station is a major railhead in south-east Bihar.
Nawada is around 80 km east of Jamui.
