Chhaura




Chhaura is located on the National Highway 2, in Gaya District of Bihar. This place is at an altitude of 492 ft above sea level.

The towns neighboring Chhaura are Bagsoti (5 km to the west), Dobhi (4 km to the north-west) and Sarwan Khas (3 km to the east). Jamuna River flows close to the town.

A much sought after tourist destination outside the town is Gaya. Bodhgaya, an ideal destination for the pilgrims, is nearly 22 km to the north of Chhaura. Pinddaan at Gaya is a unique ritual performed for the salvation of the ancestors.

Chhaura is 31 km to the south of Gaya and is served by Gaya Airport. Nearest railway station is Gaya Junction Railway Station, on the New Delhi-Kolkata rail route.
