Unchdih is situated in
Gumla District of
Jharkhand. The town is around 10 km south of
Basia and 9 km north of Barasloia. The nearest major city is
Gumla, which is around 40 km north-west.
The South Koel River, a branch of the Koel River, flows close to the town. Bhaghmunda Waterfalls is with in a short distance, and the 400-year-old Lord Jagannath Temple at Basia is nearby. Other major attractions near Unchdih are Aamtoli and Banpur Shiv Temple.
Ranchi, the state capital, is nearly 80 km north-east. Bano Railway Station and Ranchi Airport serve Unchdih.
