Subala Upanishad belongs to the
Shukla Yajur Veda. Subala Upanishad has in it the dialogue between Sage Subala, and
Brahma the creator. The discussion is on the Universe and the Absolute Reality. Subala Upanishad says that Brahmavidya(knowledge of Upanishads) should not be taught to one who is not tranquil, one who is not a son or disciple, one who stays for less than a year, whose family and character are unknown.
Subala Upanishad has references to the subsistence and dissolution of the universe, the nature of the inner controller, the creation of the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras, the three principles of self control, munificence and compassion that a man of wisdom should have,and many other spiritual issues.
