The town of Salatua is located in the western part of Palamu District and is around 12 km west of Daltonganj.
It lies on the banks of North Koel River. Rajhara (20 km north-east), Ramkanda (18 km south) and Obra (17 km west) are the nearby prominent cities. Artisan Well and Garhdevi Mandir are among the attractions in the immediate vicinity.
