Puhru River




Puhru River, one of the major rivers in Jammu and Kashmir, originates from Satkohl Nag in the lap of the Himalayas. The Kehmil, Lolab Nala, Bohipora Nala and the Haihama Nala are the major tributaries. This west flowing river is the main source to meet the irrigation and drinking needs of Kupwara and Sopore in Kupwara District.

The Lalkul Canal takes its water from Puhru River at Bubhama.
