Sopore

Sopore, also dubbed as ‘apple town’, is a beautiful settlement on the banks of Jhelum River near Wular Lake, in Baramulla District. It is a major trade center in north Kashmir and is 13 km east of Baramulla.

Cold breeze blowing from the Wular makes the Sopore evenings windy. Nearby attractions include Lolab Valley and Ismallindoor range, from where one can get a panoramic view of the town. Sopore is also famous for its woolen patus and fish.

Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is 40 km away.
