Pita Maha Siddhanta is one of the earliest known texts based on
Vedic astrology. It was written around 500 BC by an astrologer named
Pita Maha.
Pita Maha Siddhanta contains the methods for calculating the slow and fast motions of planetary bodies, the retrograde motions and the combustion in the sun. The original text was written in Sanskrit. The text has been translated into various languages and is frequently referred by the modern day astrologers.
