Havelock Island



Havelock Island is located about 38 km from Port Blair. It is dominated by Bengalis. Each village is referred to by a number, Boats dock at the jetty at No.1. The main bazaar is 2 km south at village No.3. The main attractions of Havelock are the dolphins, turtles and very large fishes that invite a large number of visitors. There is a guesthouse of the Tourism Department, called Dolphin Resort for the tourists.

Havelock is a haven for those who are interested in beachcombing, sunbathing, snorkeling, surf-riding, swimming and sunset or sunrise-watching. Camping facility is also available near Radhanagar beach.

Ferries are available daily from Phoenix Bay Jetty in Port Blair. Ferries usually return from Havelock to Port Blair the following day, but the same day on Sundays.
