Siddhagram



Previously known by the name Siddhagram, Shitala Grama is a village situated in Bardhaman District. Dhananjaya Pandita who was one of the 12 cowherd boys of Lord Nityananda lived here. There is a place of worship in this village where the deities of Gaura-Nitai and Sri Gopinath are installed. These deities were erected by Dhananjaya Pandita.

By road, buses ply from Katwa to Shitalagrama frequently. Nearby railway stations are Kechur station (one mile northeast) and Kaicara (nine miles from Katwa). The nearest airport is at Dum Dum.
