Ranikhet

Developed by the British, Ranikhet is a peaceful hill station in Almora District and is 60 km north of Nainital. Ranikhet offers excellent views of the snowcapped Himalayas and the Nanda Devi peak.

Forests filled with oak and pine trees make this an ideal tourist destination and a good walk across the region rejuvenates the body and mind. Ranikhet is also the regimental center of the Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army. Other interests in the region include a golf course, the orchards at Chaubattia and the Jhoola Devi Temple.
