Tiruvallur




Tiruvallur lies on the Chennai-Tirupati highway, about 40 km west of Chennai. It is the district headquarters of the Tiruvallur District.

The town is sanctified by the holiness of the Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Lord Veeraraghava. The temple tank was renovated and one portion of it was made into a Children’s park recently.

Major places of interest in and around Tiruvallur are Ambattur, Avadi, Chembarambakkam, Kunrathur, Pattinathar, Pazhayanur, Poondi, Poovirundavalli, Pulicat Lake and Pulicat Bird Sacuary, Surutapalli, Tiruttani.

Tiruvallur Railway Station is on the Chennai- Arakkonam railway line. National Highway 205 passes through Tiruvallur.
