Ootacamund Gymkhana Club, situated on the rolling Wenlock Downs at a height of 7000 ft above sea level, is one of the finest natural golf courses in the world. This 18-hole par 35 course is 6300 yards long and covers over 193 acres. The course is open 7 days a week, except at times when tournaments are taking place. Balls, gloves, tees and other equipments are available in the pro shop.
Member's guests and foreigners are also permitted. Accommodations are available in cottages, deluxe cottages and four bedded deluxe cottages.
The nearest airport is at Coimbatore, 105 km from Ooty. Ooty Railway Station is the convenient railhead.
