Nawan Shehar

Nawan Shehar is the seat of administration of Nawan Shehar District, in Punjab. It is situated around 60 km north-east of Ludhiana and is a major market for sugarcane and jaggery in the district.

Serai Nurmahal, Nakodar, Kartarpur, Takhni - Rehmapur Wildlife Sanctuary, Takhat Sri Keshgarh Sahib and Manakpur Sharif constitute interesting excursions. Nearest airport is at Ludhiana. Nawan Shehar Railway Station has connections with Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur. By road, Nawan Shehar is linked with Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Rupnagar.
