Areng Patal is a massive rock near Chimitap Village in South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya with mysterious powers.
The rock has a hollow space on its surface, which acts as a veritable death trap to any bird or animal that goes near it (with the exception of human beings). When a bird or an animal passes nearby, it is magnetically attracted toward the hollow from where it can never come out.
