Train number 1039, Maharashtra Express, runs between Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus Railway Station at Kolhapur, Maharashtra and Gorakhpur Junction Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh. Main towns on the way are Miraj, Karad, Satara, Pune, Daund, Ahmednagar, Belapur, Manmad, Nandgaon, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, Akola, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondiya, Khandwa, Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Allahabad, Varanasi and Aunrihar. It covers a distance of 2,634 km. The train leaves Kolhapur at 15:30 hrs.

Train number 1040, Maharashtra Express, runs between Gondiya Junction Railway Station and Solapur Junction Railway Station. Both stations are located in Maharashtra. The train touches the towns of Nagpur, Wardha, Akola, Jalgaon, Chalisgaon, Nandgaon, Manmad, Belapur, Ahmednagar, Daund, Pune, Satara, Karad, Miraj, Kolhapur, Bhigwan and Mohol on the way. It covers a distance of 1,535 km and leaves Gondiya at 08:20 hrs.

These two trains operate daily. Second A/C, third A/C and sleeper class coaches are available.
