Palkot




Situated around 21 km south of Gumla, Palkot is a small town on the National Highway 23 in Gumla District. The town is located between the Gumla and Kolebira (towards south).

Surrounded by hills and mountains, this charming place is an ideal spot for natural lovers. Among the main attractions of Palkot are the Malmalpur and Shitalpur Caves. The Malmalpur cave cannot be approached without a blanket even in hot summers. Palkot Wildlife Sanctuary, Palkot Hills and Gobarsilli Rock are other picnic spots in Palkot.

Ranchi, the state capital, is 92 km north-east. The nearest airport is Ranchi Airport and railhead is Bano Railway Station.
