Kathikund is a taluk headquarters town located between Gopikandar and Manjhiara in Dumka District of Jharkhand. Lying on Dumka-Pakur road, about 20 km north-east of the district headquarters, the town is bounded by hills and dense forests.
In and around the town lie numerous picnic spots such as Nargunj, Mahuagadhi and Gopikandar.
Gaya Airport and Patna Airport serve Kathikund. Jasidih Junction Railway Station in Deoghar District is the nearest railhead.
