Dhandhuka




Dhandhuka is a major Jain center in Ahmedabad District. Hemchandra, a great practitioner of Jain literature, of Vanik family was born here in 11th century.

This saline town is rich with ridges of limestone and trap rocks. The main interests in the town are Jalia, Sarangpur and Khambalia. Dholera, an ancient port, is 30 km from here. Dhandhuka is roughly 100 km from Ahmedabad. Dhandhuka Railway Station is on the Ahmedabad- Bhavnagar line.
