Zenana Mahal Palace Museum

Zenana Mahal Palace Museum is located at Mandore Garden in Jodhpur District of Rajasthan. It was previously a palace, constructed during the reign of the local ruler Maharaja Ajit Singh (1671-1724) for the ladies of the harem.

This museum houses artifacts depicting local history and architecture. The Natural History section of this museum has magnificent specimens of an African bison and a 11-ft-long crocodile. Full-size portraits of the local rulers, such as Maharaja Ajit Singh, Abhay Singh and Takhat Singh adorn the walls of the gallery. This gallery also displays paintings depicting battle scenes involving Apaji Sindhia and Maharaja Gaj Singh. There's a large tiger-catching cage near the Zenana Mahal Entrance, and a tiny WWF shop nearby.
