Zenana Enclosure




Zenana Enclosure, which means the ladies quarters, is a walled compound situated at Hampi, Karnataka. Influences of Hindu and Islamic styles of design and architecture can be seen at Zenana Enclosure. It consists of Queen's Palace, the Lotus Mahal, the Quarters for maids and a water pavilion where the queen used to bathe. It also has three lofty watchtowers.

The Queen's palace, one of the monuments, remains with mere basement. Lotus Mahal is the most famous monument housed in the Zenana Enclosure, which was built in Indo-Islamic style of architecture.

It is open daily for the public from 08:00 to 18:00 hrs.
