Zang Tri is celebrated in
Jammu and Kashmir and is held on the third day of Nowreh, the Kashmiri New Year. On this day, the married women in Kashmir pay a visit to their parent’s home and convey their wishes for the New Year.
It is believed that Lord Shiva created the Universe on Nowreh. His wife Goddess Parvati paid a visit to her parent's home, on the third day of the New Year. Zang Tri celebrates Parvati’s this particular visit to her parental home.
