Yiravaadaanam Temple




Locally known as the Iravatheeswarar Temple, Yiravaadaanam Temple is situated near the Piravaathaanam Temple in Kanchipuram. The temple houses the idol of Lord Shiva as Yiravaadeeshwarar. This temple is associated with sage Markandeya and Salangayana (named Swethan) who had come to this temple, worshipped the Lord and escaped from the clutches of death. Lord Yiravaadeeshwarar is praised as one who grants all boons.

Arakkonam Railway Station, located to the northeast of Kanchipuram is the nearby access point.
