Yellamma Temple




Yellamma Temple, also known as Renuka Devi Temple, is situated on top of a hill near Saundatti, about 78 km from Belgaum, in Karnataka. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Yellamma or Renuka Devi. The temple is mainly visited by pilgrims from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Shri Yellamma Devi Fair, celebrated for about 5 times between October and February, is a major draw. Yellamma jatra, which takes place on the full moon day known as ‘Bharat Hunnime’, attracts thousands of devotees from far and near. During the jatra, Yellamma is worshipped complete with all its attendant rituals, as in the manner of ‘Shakti Puja’.

Dharwar Railway Station at Dharwad is the nearest railhead.
