Yameswar Temple

Yameswar Temple is along the route to Khandagiri at Bhubaneswar in Orissa. According to myths, Yama, lord of death and ruler of netherworld, was the architect of the temple that named it thus. The shrine is set on a high plinth and the niches at its sides house minor deities. The architecture is in the sapta-ratha (seven chariot) plan with a seven-ledged structure supported by an equal number of pillars.
