Wokha District




Wokha district is situated in the mid-western part of the state of Nagaland, at an altitude of 1,313 m above sea level. 'Wokha' literally means census. Wokha is a cool place having a maximum temperature of 32° C in summer and 2° C in winter. Villages are mostly situated on hilltops. Wokha is famous for its varieties of oranges and pineapples. With an area of 1,628 sq km, the district has a population of 161,098. Tiyi, the highest mountain peak in Wokha District, has a height of 1,970 m above sea level.
