Washind, a large village in
Shahapur taluk is located on the Agra road, 8 km south of Shahapur and 78 km north-east of Mumbai. This place has a railway station on the Mumbai-Kasara route of the Central Railway. Near the north-east of the village lies the lofty peak of Mahuli which can be climbed from near the Washind Railway Station. Thal Pass situated at an altitude of 23.469 m begins from here. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the closest airport.
